Walking Talking Mock Examinations

Our Walking Talking Mock (WTM) Examinations are one of the most effective ways to help children develop confidence, improve exam technique and understand exactly what is expected of them in the 11+ examination.

During a Walking Talking Mock, one of our highly qualified 11+ specialist teachers works through a complete exam paper live with a group of students, explaining the thought processes behind each question and answer. Rather than simply completing questions, children are taught how to approach them strategically.

Students learn how to carefully read and interpret questions, identify key information, use diagrams and tables effectively, and apply the most efficient methods to reach the correct answer. Our teachers explicitly model their thinking, calculations and decision-making, giving children valuable insight into the techniques used by successful 11+ candidates.

These sessions provide an excellent opportunity to actively teach exam skills, reduce anxiety and build confidence before sitting a formal mock examination.

Formal Mock Examinations

Following our Walking Talking Mock sessions, students can put their skills into practice by sitting a formal mock examination under timed exam conditions.

Our mock papers are carefully written to reflect the style and content of the GL Assessment syllabus. They are fully aligned with the Torbay 11+ Entrance Examination and do not include any Year 6 curriculum content, ensuring children are assessed on the material they are expected to know at the time of the test.

Each mock examination includes detailed feedback to help parents and students understand strengths, identify areas for development and guide future preparation.
