Year 5 Superstar Tutoring

Welcome to 11+ Superstar Tutoring! We would love to support you and your child on the 11+ journey.

Start Date:  w/c 22nd September 2025

Time: One hour of tutoring on a 1-1 or group basis. Sessions are term time only until Easter. We then require Superstars to continue their sessions and/or opt in to Masterclasses/ Summer School to ensure that the full curriculum can be delivered.

Group size: maximum size of 4 Superstars

Cost: £22 per hour for group sessions and £32 per hour for 1-1 sessions

Invoices are issued on a monthly basis, with payment due on 1st of the month in advance.

Resources: All Superstars are given an 11+ Superstar draw string bag, a homework book, a spelling book and exam style pencil case (transparent - perfect for the 11+ exam). Superstars have access to our Superstar library, located outside our home in Newton Abbot. We recommend Superstars are exposed to a range of classic texts and Shakespeare adaptations.

Superstars are asked to purchase two books to work from in our sessions - this will be advised after the first session.

Curriculum: We cover ALL topics that appear in the 11+ examination - it is important to note that children are NOT tested on content beyond year 5 since the introduction of the new GL style examination (no longer the CEM examination).

Tutors: Our tutors are in-post, experienced classroom teachers with a passion for teaching the 11+ syllabus.

Homework: We believe homework should be manageable and bespoke to each individual learner. We don’t expect Superstars to complete sheets and sheets of work - we are experienced teachers who can deliver the content needed within sessions and don’t need Superstars to do learning outside of the sessions - just small amounts of consolidation at their challenge point.

Feedback: All tutors will offer verbal feedback at the end of the session and contact you if they have concerns about your Superstars progress.

11+ Mock Exams: 11+ mock exams run on Sunday afternoons from March. All mock exams can be booked on our Tutorbird portal and our schedule will be available at the beginning of the Year 5 journey.

Masterclasses and Summer School: Masterclasses run in December and April and Summer School takes place in August. These sessions are optional and can be booked on our Tutorbird portal.
