11+ Superstars Tutoring

Welcome to 11+ Superstars! We offer 1:1 and group tuition for the new style Torbay 11+ Entrance examination for children in both Year 5 and Year 4, for those who wish to get strong start on their 11+ journey.

Sessions are 1 hour long and cover all topics that appear in the 11+ under the subjects of Maths and English. Lessons are fun and engaging – group sessions offer some friendly competition whilst 1:1 sessions are perfect for children who might need to work at a slower pace or have specific gaps in their knowledge.

Meet the Team!

Laura

Hi, I’m Laura and I run 11+ Superstars with my husband, Rob. We live in Newton Abbot with our 2 daughters who are 4 and 7 years old.

I’m a primary school teacher of 10 years with experience from the Early Years all the way up to Year 6. I work for an English Hub and support primary school teachers in developing their teaching of phonics in primary schools across Devon, Somerset and Cornwall.

I attended Torquay Girls’ Grammar School and wholeheartedly believe in the benefit in a grammar school education for children who thrive academically and want to be around likeminded peers.

I began tutoring in 2020 and quickly realised a love of tutoring children for the 11+ examination.

I’ve enjoyed motivating and inspiring children through their year of preparation whilst making them laugh during the way.

Our tutees leave us well prepared for the expectations of the 11+ and full of confidence going into the examination- I couldn’t be more proud of helping our tutees to achieve that.

Rob

Hi, I’m Rob from 11+ Superstars. I’m a senior teacher at a local primary school and have experience teaching from EYFS all the way to year 6.

We work hard to make sure children learn lots and develop on their prior knowledge whilst having lots of fun in the process.

You’ll usually see me in Torquay on a Saturday morning, visiting our Superstars at their homes for 1-1 sessions.

My favourite part of our tutoring is delivering the Easter and Summer Masterclasses because it is so rewarding to see our Superstars putting into practise all the learning they’ve accumulated over the year and working collaboratively with their peers.
